About CELPass
CELPass is an independent online platform for CELPIP preparation. We help people who need a CELPIP score for Canadian permanent residence or citizenship find out where they stand, practise in the real test format and fix the mistakes that hold their CLB back.
What we do
- A free 25-minute diagnostic that predicts your CLB level for each CELPIP section.
- Practice tests and full mock exams for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking in the CELPIP format.
- AI scoring of Speaking and Writing answers on the four CELPIP rating dimensions, shown as a CLB range with each mistake labelled.
- Short daily drills built from your own mistakes, scheduled with spaced repetition.
- Free public resources: the CELPIP test format, guides, a blog and a CELPIP score calculator.
How our content is made
Our format pages, guides and blog posts describe the test as it is publicly documented by Paragon Testing Enterprises on the official CELPIP website, and immigration requirements as published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
- Every guide and post shows the date it was published or last updated.
- We keep immigration facts conservative: where rules depend on your situation or change often, we point you to IRCC or the official CELPIP website rather than guess.
- Sample answers on our pages are original CELPass examples with an estimated CLB range, never official CELPIP material or official scores.
- CLB levels are always whole levels, as IRCC uses them.
Who writes our content
- CELPass Editorial Team: writes and reviews every CELPass guide, blog post and CELPIP format page.
- David: writes and reviews CELPIP Speaking content.
- Rita: writes and reviews CELPIP Writing content.
- Iris: writes and reviews CELPIP Reading and Listening content.

About AI scoring
Speaking and Writing answers on CELPass are scored by AI against the four dimensions CELPIP raters use. The result is an estimate, shown as a CLB range, to guide your practice. Writing scoring is checked against officially rated CELPIP sample essays at CLB 4–5, 7–8 and 11–12. Only the official CELPIP test gives you a score you can use for immigration.
