New CRS points calculator: Express Entry changes on November 3, 2026

On November 3, 2026 IRCC adds points for Canadian work in high-wage occupations and brings back job offer points without an LMIA. Enter your profile to estimate how many CRS points you gain. It follows the rules IRCC published on October 16, 2026 and covers only the factor that changes.

Estimate your new CRS score

  1. Your CRS score today

The score shown in your Express Entry profile right now (optional).

  2. Is a spouse or partner counted in your profile?

Choose “Yes” only if they are coming to Canada with you and aren't a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  3. Canadian work experience in your profile

Skilled work (TEER 0–3) in Canada in the last 10 years: the same years your profile counts today. These points don't change.

  4. Was at least 12 months of that work in a high-wage occupation?

It depends on your occupation's NOC code, not your own salary. Worked in more than one? Pick the one with the lowest wage level among the jobs that make up your 12 months.

  5. Do you have a job offer in Canada?

Full-time, for at least one year after you become a permanent resident. From November 3 it no longer needs an LMIA, but it only earns points in a high-wage occupation.

0CRS points from November 3, 2026. Enter your score in step 1 to see your new total.

Nothing changes for you yet: without 12 months in a high-wage occupation or a qualifying job offer, you keep your 40 points for Canadian work experience.

IRCC counts your Canadian work experience (work length + high-wage bonus) or your job offer, whichever is higher, never both. The total tops out at 150: up to 80 for work length plus 70 high-wage, or 100 for a job offer. Age, education, language, spouse factors, skill transferability and additional points don't change, so CELPIP is still where most candidates add the most: see your language points.

What changes on November 3

The Canadian work experience factor becomes the Labour Market Integration factor, worth up to 150 points (140 with an accompanying spouse or partner). You get the higher of two routes, never both.

Route 1: Canadian work experience

Points for years of skilled (TEER 0–3) work in Canada in the last 10 years don't change. If at least 12 months of it was in a high-wage occupation, you get extra points on top.

1.5×1.5× to under 2× the average median wage40
1.3×1.3× to under 1.5× the average median wage20

The 12 months can be continuous or not, full-time or the same hours part-time (1,560 hours), and combined across more than one high-wage job. Each level counts time at that level or higher.

Route 2: a qualifying job offer

Job offer points (instead of work experience points, if higher)
Occupation levelMedian wagePoints
2×at least 2× the average median wage100
1.5×1.5× to under 2× the average median wage70
1.3×1.3× to under 1.5× the average median wage50

The offer must be full-time and continuous for at least one year after you become a permanent resident. It no longer needs an LMIA, can be with a new or current employer, and is still checked by an officer. Job offers outside high-wage occupations earn no CRS points but can still meet Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades eligibility.

What stays the same

Age, education, official languages, spouse factors, skill transferability (still based on years of Canadian work, not high-wage points) and additional points such as a provincial nomination. IRCC will recalculate every profile when the change takes effect, which could take up to two weeks, and pause invitation rounds until it's done. More points don't guarantee an invitation.

Is my job a high-wage occupation?

It depends on your NOC 2021 occupation, not your own pay: IRCC compares the median wage of everyone in Canada in that occupation with the average median wage, using the highest level it reached in the last three years (2023–2025 for the list below). Search it in the calculator above, or find your code with the NOC code finder. Source: IRCC high-wage occupations.

Where CELPIP fits

The new points help candidates already in a high-wage job in Canada. For everyone else, language is still the factor you can change fastest: going from CLB 7 to CLB 9 in all four CELPIP skills adds 56 core points (52 with a spouse), plus skill transferability points with a degree or foreign work experience. See exactly how many with the CELPIP score calculator, and check your full score with IRCC's CRS tool.

The same calculation is available to AI assistants through our free MCP server at https://celpass.com/mcp: connect it once and ask your assistant for your new CRS score or whether a NOC code is a high-wage occupation. How to connect.

Frequently asked questions

What changes in Express Entry on November 3, 2026?

The CRS factor for Canadian work experience becomes the Labour Market Integration factor, worth up to 150 points (140 with a spouse or partner). You keep the same points for years of Canadian work and can add 20, 40 or 70 points for 12 months or more in a high-wage occupation. Job offers in a high-wage occupation earn 50, 70 or 100 points again, and no longer need an LMIA.

Can I get points for both Canadian work experience and a job offer?

No. IRCC counts either your Canadian work experience points or your job offer points, whichever is higher, never both.

Is a high-wage occupation based on my own salary?

No. It depends on the median wage of everyone in Canada in your NOC occupation compared with the average median wage. Level 2× occupations are at least twice that average, 1.5× occupations at least 1.5 times and 1.3× occupations at least 1.3 times. The list from November 3 uses 2023–2025 wage data.

Do I need an LMIA for job offer points after November 3?

No. From November 3, 2026 a qualifying job offer doesn't need an LMIA for CRS points or for Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades eligibility, and having an LMIA adds no extra points. Officers still check that the offer is genuine. Until IRCC updates the online form, its instructions say to answer that you have a positive LMIA and enter placeholder details.

What if I worked in jobs at different wage levels?

Months can be combined across eligible high-wage jobs. Each level needs 12 months at that level or higher, so 8 months in a 2× occupation and 4 months in a 1.5× occupation earn the 1.5× points (40). Part-time work counts once it adds up to the same hours as full-time (1,560 hours).

Will my CRS score change automatically?

Yes. IRCC recalculates existing profiles when the change takes effect, which could take up to two weeks, and pauses invitation rounds until it's done. If you have a job offer, make sure the offer details are complete in your profile before November 3.

Does this change CELPIP or language points?

No. Language, age, education, spouse factors, skill transferability and additional points stay the same. CLB 9 or higher in all four CELPIP skills still adds the most points for most candidates, because it raises both the core language points and the skill transferability points.
