The OINP Workforce Priority points grid
Eleven factors add up to 132 points: 72 for your job and work history, 20 for education, 25 for language and 15 for where in Ontario you will work. Scoring factors are separate from the stream's eligibility rules, so check both.

Work experience, earnings and status
Ontario work experience counts full-time time in the job offer position (up to 18). With less than 6 months there, full-time work anywhere in Ontario counts instead, up to 12. Earnings use your best year in the last five on a CRA Notice of Assessment, and a valid work permit gives 10 (a study permit 5).
| Full-time | Points |
|---|---|
| Over 24 months | 18 |
| 13 to 24 months | 15 |
| 6 to 12 months | 12 |
| Less than 6 months, or not working in it now | 0 |

| Under $30,000, or no Canadian earnings | 0 |
Education
Your highest credential needs to be Canadian or have an educational credential assessment (ECA). Canadian post-secondary credentials of one year or longer add 5 for one and 10 for more than one.
| Education | Points |
|---|---|
| Doctorate, or a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry | 10 |
| Master's degree | 8 |
| University certificate or diploma above a bachelor level | 6 |

Ontario scores your lowest CLB across the four skills. With both an English and a French test, the better test counts, and CLB 6 or more in every skill on both earns the 10-point two-languages bonus (one language earns 5).
| CLB level | Points |

Where CELPIP fits
Language is worth up to 25 of the 132 points, and going from CLB 7 to CLB 9 in every skill adds 7. Because Ontario scores your lowest skill, raise the weakest CELPIP section first: the free diagnostic predicts your CLB in each. Our CELPIP score requirements guide lists the federal minimums, and the NOC code finder shows the TEER and broad category of your job.
Frequently asked questions
Which OINP streams use EOI points in 2026?
Only the Ontario Workforce Priority stream. Ontario closed its eight former streams (the Employer Job Offer, Masters, PhD and Express Entry streams) in June 2026 and opened Workforce Priority expressions of interest on August 4, 2026. Calculators built on the old grid no longer give a current score.
What is the maximum OINP score?
132 points with a job offer, adding up the maximum for each factor (Ontario's page doesn't state a total). Self-employed physicians, who apply without a job offer, aren't scored on wage, so their maximum is 117.
How many OINP points does CELPIP give?
Points come from your lowest CLB across the four skills: CLB 9 or more gives 15, CLB 8 gives 12, CLB 7 gives 8 and CLB 6 gives 4. One official language adds 5 more; CLB 6 or more in every skill on both an English and a French test adds 10 instead. A CELPIP level is the same CLB level.
What CLB do I need for the Ontario Workforce Priority stream?
CLB 6 in all four skills for a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 job offer (CLB 5 for listed skilled trades), and CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5. Recent graduates of eligible Ontario programs with a TEER 0–3 job offer don't need a test, but a test still earns language points. CELPIP General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada are accepted.
What OINP score do I need for an invitation?
Ontario hasn't published any Workforce Priority draws yet. Cut-offs from the old streams, before June 2026, were scored on a different grid, so they don't tell you what the new stream will need. Check Ontario's invitations page for the first rounds.
What changed in the OINP grid on October 5, 2026?
Ontario added a top earnings row: earning $80,000 or more in one year in the last five years, shown on a CRA Notice of Assessment, now gives 10 points instead of 8. Ontario applied it to existing expressions of interest automatically.
