Are the free practice tests as good as the tests inside CELPass?
They are good practice: real CELPIP-format questions in the test order, with an answer key and a rough CLB. But a web page is easier than the real test: you can replay the audio, scroll back through a passage and take as long as you like, and the answer key only shows which questions you missed, not why. The tests inside CELPass are closer to test day. Each one is written to match the official CELPIP practice tests in style, topics and difficulty, and every question is checked by answering it without the key, so none has two defensible answers. Mock tests run in a CELPIP-style test screen under real timing, play each Listening recording only once, include Speaking and Writing, and use each question in only one mock, so your predicted CLB is not inflated by questions you have seen before. Every wrong option is labelled with the trap it sets, so your results explain why you chose it.
How is scoring different on the CELPass platform?
A free practice test counts your correct answers out of 38 and converts them to an estimated CLB. What do the drills, lessons and AI feedback add?

How do I know my CLB from a practice test?
Check your answers at the end of a full test and the page shows an estimated CLB from your number of correct answers out of 38. As a rough guide, about 29 correct is around CLB 9 and about 23 is around CLB 7. CELPIP converts raw scores with a table for each test form, so this is an estimate, not an official score.
Are these official CELPIP tests?
No. They are CELPIP-format practice tests on CELPass, an independent platform not affiliated with Paragon Testing Enterprises. Use them alongside the official free practice tests on celpip.ca: the official tests show the real screens, and these give you many more full tests to practise with.
How many practice tests should I take before CELPIP?
Take one full test at the start to find your weakest parts, practise those parts one at a time, then take a full test every week or so to track your level. Save an official practice test for the last week or two as a final check.
