WOMAN: Excuse me, I saw a flyer about the community band practice. Is this where I sign up?

MAN: Yes, you're in the right place! I'm Mark, the band coordinator. Are you interested in joining?

WOMAN: Definitely! I played clarinet all through high school and college, but that was years ago. I really miss making music with others.

MAN: That's great! We're always looking for new members, especially woodwind players. How long has it been since you've played?

WOMAN: About five years, I think. I still have my instrument, though. Would I need to audition?

MAN: No formal audition required! We're a pretty relaxed group. We do ask new members to attend two practice sessions before officially joining, just to make sure it's a good fit for everyone.

WOMAN: That sounds reasonable. When do you usually practice?

MAN: We meet every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 in the community center auditorium. We also have optional weekend rehearsals before performances.

WOMAN: Perfect! That works with my schedule. What kind of music do you play?

MAN: We do a mix of everything - classical pieces, movie soundtracks, popular music arrangements. Right now, we're preparing for the summer concert series in the park.

WOMAN: Oh, that sounds fun! Is there a membership fee?

MAN: Yes, it's $60 per season, which covers sheet music and facility costs. The season runs for four months, and we usually do two or three public performances.

WOMAN: That's very reasonable. Do I need to bring anything to the first practice?

MAN: Just your instrument and enthusiasm! We'll provide a music folder and stand. You might want to bring a pencil for making notes.

WOMAN: Great! Can I start this Wednesday?

MAN: Absolutely! Just come about 15 minutes early so I can introduce you to the section leader and get you settled in.

WOMAN: I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for all the information!

MAN: You're welcome! See you on Wednesday!
