A: Thanks for coming in today. As you both know, we've just received word that our funding is being cut by 15% for the next fiscal year. We need to figure out how to adjust our programs without compromising our core services.

B: That's a pretty significant cut. Do we know why this is happening?

A: The city council cited budget constraints across all departments. Unfortunately, community services always seem to be the first to get trimmed.

C: Well, we knew this might be coming. I've been looking at our program attendance numbers, and there are a few areas where we could potentially scale back without affecting too many people.

B: Like what? I'm worried about cutting any programs completely. So many families depend on us.

C: I was thinking we could reduce the hours of the computer lab from six days to four. Usage is pretty low on Mondays and Wednesdays.

A: That's not a bad idea. We'd save on staffing and utilities.

B: Mmm, I'm not so sure about that. The computer lab is essential for people who don't have internet access at home. They use it for job searches, homework...

A: What about combining some of our classes? The senior yoga and the gentle fitness classes cover similar material.

C: That could work. We'd save on instructor fees and free up space for other activities.

B: I suppose that makes sense. But we should check with the participants first. You know how Mrs. Peterson gets when we change her schedule!

A: (laughs) True! She'd have my head if we didn't give her advance notice.

C: What about our summer festival? It costs a small fortune, and while it's great for community spirit, we could scale it back this year.

B: Actually, I've been thinking about that. What if we approached local businesses for sponsorships? They could set up booths, and we could charge a small fee.

A: That's brilliant! We could turn it into a revenue generator instead of an expense.

C: I like where this is going. We could also look at our supply costs. I bet we could find some cheaper alternatives for art materials and office supplies.

B: And maybe we could ask for more volunteers instead of paid staff for some events?

A: These are all great ideas. Let's put together a proposal with these options and meet again next week. I want to make sure we're not cutting anything that's truly essential.

C: Sounds good. I'll crunch some numbers and see exactly how much each of these changes would save us.

B: And I'll start reaching out to potential business sponsors for the festival. Fingers crossed we can make this work without too much disruption.

A: Thanks, team. I knew we could figure this out together.
