You are trying to read more books this year. Should you invest in an e-reader or borrow physical books from your local library?

**Option 1:

-E-Reader

-Holds thousands of books

-Lightweight and portable

-Need to buy or download books

-Requires charging

**Option 2:

-Borrowing from the Library

-Free access to many titles

-No device needed

-Limited borrowing periods

-Books may not always be available

***Alternative Choice (Your Parent’s Preference):

Borrowing from the library is free, lets you enjoy real books, and supports your community.

Excellent answer (transcript): around CLB 11–12

While I value the community aspect and cost savings of borrowing from the library, I believe e-readers provide unmatched convenience. I can instantly access a huge selection of books, read anywhere and anytime, and highlight or search text easily. Although libraries are wonderful, the flexibility and portability of an e-reader allow me to read far more consistently and on my own schedule.

Good answer (transcript): around CLB 7–8

Borrowing from the library is free and feels nice, but I like my e-reader more. I can read at night and don’t have to wait for popular books. Even though I have to charge it, having many books with me is very useful.

Basic answer (transcript): around CLB 4–5

I prefer using an e-reader. It is small and I can carry many books. The library is nice, but sometimes I cannot find the book I want. The e-reader is easier for me.
