Transcript (read it after you answer)

Helen: Alright, team. The city has updated its recycling rules, and we need to adapt our building’s guidelines.

Marcus: I read through the new list. They’re adding compostable food containers, but they’re also banning plastic bags in the recycling bins.

Priya: That’s going to be a big change. Many residents use plastic bags to collect recyclables before tossing them in.

Helen: Exactly. We’ll need to make it clear that they should empty the recyclables directly into the bin without bags.

Marcus: What about glass? The city still accepts it, but they want it rinsed. That might be hard to enforce.

Priya: We could put up reminder posters by the bin area—simple instructions with images.

Helen: Good idea. We should also send out a printed handout with the updated list of accepted items.

Marcus: And maybe host a short info session in the lobby. That way, residents can ask questions directly.

Priya: I like that. Also, for compostable containers, we might need a separate bin so they don’t mix with regular recycling.

Helen: True. Let’s put a compost bin next to the recycling and garbage bins.

Marcus: What about fines for non-compliance? Some buildings have started issuing warnings and then charging a small penalty.

Priya: I’d rather start with education before penalties. Give people a month to adjust.

Helen: Agreed. So: no plastic bags in recycling, rinse glass, add compost bin, send out handouts, posters, and host an info session. We’ll review compliance in one month.

Marcus: Sounds like a solid plan. I’ll draft the written guidelines.
