Dear Professor Lee,

I hope you’re well. I’m a student in your Intro to Biology class (Tuesdays at 10 a.m.), and I wanted to reach out because I couldn’t attend last week’s lecture due to a sudden flu. I’m feeling better now, but I’m worried about falling behind, especially since I heard we covered cell division, which I’ve always found tricky.

Could you let me know if the lecture slides or notes are available online? I checked the course portal, but I didn’t see anything uploaded yet. Also, a classmate mentioned there was a quiz announced—did I miss the date for that, or is it still upcoming? I’d really like to stay on track with the material.

I’m free to stop by your office hours this week if you’d prefer to discuss this in person—just let me know when works for you. Alternatively, if there’s a recording of the session, that’d be amazing too. Oh, and do I need to submit anything to excuse my absence, like a doctor’s note? I want to make sure I follow the right process.

Thanks so much for your understanding—I’m really enjoying the course and don’t want this hiccup to hold me back!

Sincerely,

Noah
