Maya: Okay, team, we’ve got the cleanup day approved for next month. Now we need to work out the budget.
Chris: The city is giving us a $1,000 grant, but we have to cover everything—supplies, refreshments, and promotion—within that.
Anita: Let’s start with supplies. We’ll need garbage bags, gloves, and maybe a few litter pickers. I estimate $300 for those.
Maya: Sounds reasonable. For refreshments, if we get bottled water and some fruit, that might be another $150.
Chris: We could save money by getting a local grocery store to donate snacks.
Anita: Good idea. That would free up funds for signage and posters.
Maya: Promotion is important. If we spend $200 on printing posters and flyers, and also use social media, we can reach more people.
Chris: So, $300 for supplies, $150 for refreshments—possibly less if donated—and $200 for promotion. That’s $650, leaving $350 unallocated.
Anita: We should set aside $200 for unexpected expenses—like extra garbage bags if turnout is higher than expected.
Maya: Agreed. That leaves $150, which we could use to rent a tent in case of rain.
Chris: Perfect. Let’s finalize it: $300 supplies, $150 refreshments (or less with donations), $200 promotion, $200 contingency, $150 tent rental.
Anita: Works for me. I’ll draft the budget sheet for submission.
