CELPIP Speaking Task 2 Sample Answer: A First Time Gardening Experience

My first gardening experience was a mix of trial and error, but it’s a memory I cherish. I decided to start a small herb garden on my balcony, planting basil, mint, and rosemary, because I wanted to use fresh herbs in my cooking. I had no idea what I was doing at first—I overwatered the plants and didn’t give them enough sunlight. After some research and adjustments, the herbs finally started to thrive, and I’ll never forget the moment I picked my first sprig of basil to add to a pasta dish. I felt a deep sense of satisfaction and connection to nature, and it sparked a lifelong love for gardening that continues to bring me joy and peace.

My first gardening experience was when I decided to plant some flowers in my backyard. I chose sunflowers because I love how bright they look. I dug holes, planted the seeds, and watered them every day. It took a few weeks, but when the flowers started growing, I was so excited. I felt proud of myself for creating something beautiful, and it made me want to garden more.

I try gardening one time. I plant tomato in my yard. I put seed in soil and water it. It grow slow, but I see small tomato. I feel happy because I grow food.
