Emma: Okay, team, we need to plan a charity run to raise funds for the local animal shelter. It should be inclusive and well-attended. Any ideas?
Tom: I think a 5K run is the way to go. It’s a standard distance, and we can include a fun run for kids to make it family-friendly.
Lucas: A 5K’s great, Tom, but some people might find it too long. What about a shorter 2K walk/run? It’s more accessible for all ages and fitness levels.
Emma: A 2K is inclusive, but it might not feel like a big event. What if we offer both? A 5K for runners and a 2K walk/run for everyone else. We could use the same route to simplify planning.
Tom: That’s a good compromise, Emma. We’d just need to stagger the start times to avoid congestion. My concern is the route—downtown streets might be tricky to close off.
Lucas: True. What about using the riverfront trail? It’s scenic, flat, and already a popular spot for runners. We’d just need permits from the city.
Emma: I like the riverfront trail. It’s safe and attractive, which could draw more participants. The only issue is parking—there’s limited space near the trailhead.
Tom: We could encourage carpooling and set up a shuttle from the community center. That would make it easier for everyone to get there.
Lucas: I’m sold on the dual 5K and 2K on the riverfront trail. Let’s also offer online registration to boost sign-ups and make it easier to track donations.
Emma: Perfect. Let’s go with the 5K and 2K charity run on the riverfront trail. Tom, can you contact the city about permits?
Tom: Yep, I’ll get on it.
Lucas: I’ll set up the online registration page and promote it on social media.
Emma: Great. I’ll arrange the shuttle and coordinate volunteers. This run is going to be a hit!
