Dear Fatima,
Is there any chance of putting me back on a powered pitch before Saturday? When the new map went up on Tuesday my table had moved from the covered entrance to the west wall, and the outlet I have used for three seasons did not move with it. I am asking you rather than the layout committee because you know what a July morning does to custard.
My cream pastries have to sit below four degrees, and coolers will not hold that through a six-hour market in this heat. I tried exactly that last August: we open at eight, two coolers kept temperature until about eleven, and I spent the rest of the day carrying trays into the shade. The nearest lead on the new map belongs to the coffee trailer, and neither of us wants a cable stretched across the public aisle.
There is an easy answer, I think, in the pitch beside the craft tables, empty since the candle maker gave it up in June. Its outlet is the one the coffee trailer ran from last season, so nothing new has to be laid. Halina, who runs the craft tables, had no objection when I put it to her on Tuesday evening. Petra could bring the van in through the craft gate at half past six instead of joining the line at the main gate, so nobody waits longer than they do now.
I am not aiming any of this at the three growers who took the covered entrance, and I would hate for it to reach them as a grievance. They need clean unloading and passing trade as much as I do. My difficulty is that refrigeration is not an extra for me: I paid the season's pitch fee in April on the understanding that it covered power.
Could you mark me a powered pitch, either the craft-side space or my old one, and send Petra the revised loading note? Thursday is the honest cut-off, because Friday is the day I mix and bake everything for the stall. If neither is possible I will leave the cream out and sell only what travels warm, which costs me about four hundred dollars and half the point of the morning.
Regards,
Leo

Dear Leo,
Yes, and quickly, because custard does not wait for a committee. You can have , since the growers are not being moved again this season. The socket there takes one plug, so you cannot run a second appliance from it. The lead by the trailer stays where it is, because , and I would rather not referee that arrangement all summer. Had the answer been no, you would have lost and much of the point of the morning, which is not a trade either of us would make. Petra can use the craft gate, but I unlock it at seven, so she will be , and there is no one to staff that gate before I get here. You will have all of this in writing before , and the revised loading note goes to Petra on the same day.
Best,
Fatima
