The question

As technology advances, adult education is evolving rapidly. E-learning can provide flexible and accessible opportunities for working adults to upgrade their skills.

Which strategy should be adopted to support adult e-learning? What do you think?

- Option A: Subsidize the cost of online courses for adults seeking new qualifications.

-Option B: Create public e-learning hubs in libraries with free computer and internet access.

Please choose one option and explain your preference.

Write about 150-200 words.

Excellent answer: around CLB 11–12

Subsidizing online courses for adults (Option A) would be the most effective method to expand e-learning access. Financial assistance reduces the barrier to continuing education, especially for working professionals and parents. While e-learning hubs offer resources for those without technology at home, cost remains the primary challenge for most adults. Providing subsidies empowers individuals to choose from a wider range of courses and learn at their own pace, enhancing workforce adaptability and lifelong learning.

Good answer: around CLB 7–8

I would choose to subsidize online courses for adults. These days, many jobs need new skills, and adults may not afford the training. Making courses cheaper means more people can study at home, even if they have a busy schedule. While public e-learning centers are useful, not everyone can visit them. Helping with course costs has a bigger impact.

Basic answer: around CLB 4–5

I believe the city should help pay for online courses for adults. Many people want to learn, but classes are expensive. If the city pays part of the cost, more adults can get new jobs. E-learning hubs are good, but not everyone lives near a library. I think option A helps more people.
