The question

Urban agriculture is gaining attention as cities look for sustainable food sources and greener communities. Deciding how to support agriculture within city limits can shape future food systems.

How should your city promote urban agriculture? What’s your opinion?

- Option B: Offer free online workshops and mentoring for aspiring urban farmers.

Please choose one option and explain your preference.

Write about 150-200 words.

Excellent answer: around CLB 11–12

I strongly support the allocation of rooftop and community garden spaces as the most impactful way to promote urban agriculture. These spaces offer hands-on opportunities for residents to engage with food production, regardless of their living situation. While educational workshops are valuable, practical access to gardening areas removes a key barrier to participation. Additionally, community gardens foster social interaction and environmental awareness, making cities more sustainable and resilient in the long run.

Good answer: around CLB 7–8

In my opinion, creating rooftop and community gardens would be the best approach. Many city residents do not have enough space to grow their own food. If the city provides garden areas, more people will have the chance to try urban farming. While online workshops teach important skills, having an actual place to practice is more effective. Gardens also bring people together and make the city greener.

Basic answer: around CLB 4–5

I think my city should give people garden spaces on rooftops and in the community. Not everyone has a yard, so this would help more people grow vegetables. Workshops are helpful, but first, people need a place to plant things. If we have more gardens, families can eat fresh food and learn together. That’s why I like option A.
