Transcript (read it after you answer)
WOMAN: Morning, Dave! Are we still on for the hike Saturday, or has the forecast messed things up?
MAN: It's looking shaky. Saturday morning's clear, but a rain system moves in by early afternoon.
WOMAN: That's not great for Eagle Ridge — that trail gets slippery fast once it's wet, especially near the top.
MAN: True. Yesterday it said thunderstorms after two, but this morning it's showing just light showers, so who really knows.
WOMAN: Forecasts change every few hours this time of year. I wouldn't trust it completely either way, honestly.
MAN: Fair point. Maybe we start earlier then, like seven instead of nine, so we're back down before anything hits.
WOMAN: That could work, though it also means less sleep, and you're usually the one complaining about early starts.
MAN: Ha, guilty. Still, I'd rather lose an hour of sleep than get caught on that ridge during a storm.
WOMAN: Same here, honestly. Actually, what if we swap trails instead? Riverside Loop is shorter and mostly under tree cover.
MAN: I like that idea more than starting at seven. Less exposed, and we could still sleep in a bit.
WOMAN: Exactly, and if it does rain, walking under the tree cover wouldn't ruin the whole morning like an open ridge would.
MAN: Okay, let's go with Riverside then. I'll bring the rain shells, and we can decide there whether to push further.
WOMAN: Sounds good. I'll pack extra snacks too, since we might end up out longer than planned either way.
MAN: Perfect. I'll text you tonight once I see the updated forecast, just to confirm we're not walking into anything worse.
