Transcript (read it after you answer)
MAN: Denise, hey! Have you heard that new climbing gym opened past the plaza, Summit Peak Climbing? Just opened last week.
WOMAN: No, I hadn't heard.
MAN: I remembered you've been saying for years you wanted to try climbing, so I figured I'd mention it. There's an intro class every Sunday at ten, specifically for beginners.
WOMAN: You remembered that? I think I said that at your birthday party, like three years ago. But yeah, I'm genuinely interested — I just never knew where to start. Do I need my own gear, or do they have equipment?
MAN: You can rent everything — shoes, harness, chalk bag — for twelve dollars. Or a day pass is twenty-five dollars and includes the same rental gear.
WOMAN: What's the difference between the day pass and the actual class?
MAN: The intro class is forty dollars, but that includes gear plus ninety minutes with an instructor teaching proper technique and safety basics. Plus, there's a discount on a monthly membership if you sign up for the class first.
WOMAN: Having an actual instructor sounds worth the extra cost, especially if I have no idea what I'm doing. Do you have to book ahead, or can you just show up Sunday?
MAN: You have to book online — spots are limited to keep the instructor ratio manageable, something like one instructor per six people.
WOMAN: Alright, let's do it. I'm going to book the Sunday class tonight before I talk myself out of it.
MAN: That's the spirit. One more thing — do you know if they have age restrictions? I was thinking of bringing my nephew sometime.
WOMAN: I didn't see anything about age limits, though I'd imagine kids need a parent to sign a waiver. I can ask Sunday if you want.
MAN: That'd be great. Text me after your class — I want to hear how it goes.
