The question
Your company is redesigning an unused office space and wants to know employees' preferences.
Which option do you prefer? Why?
-Option A: Create a cafeteria with affordable meals and snacks.
-Option B: Build a comfortable lounge area for employees to relax and socialize.
Excellent answer: around CLB 11–12
I advocate for converting the unused space into a cafeteria, a decision that would elevate employee satisfaction and performance. Access to affordable, nutritious meals addresses a practical need, sparing workers the burden of meal prep on hectic mornings. Studies consistently show that proper nutrition boosts concentration and stamina, directly enhancing productivity.
Beyond individual benefits, a cafeteria naturally fosters camaraderie. Shared dining experiences encourage cross-departmental interactions, cultivating a more cohesive workplace culture—something a lounge, while pleasant, might not achieve with the same depth.
Admittedly, a relaxation area has its appeal, offering a spot to unwind during breaks. Yet, the tangible advantages of fueling employees with quality food outweigh the softer perks of additional seating. By prioritizing a cafeteria, the company invests in both our well-being and its operational success, making it the clear superior option

Good answer: around CLB 7–8
I prefer Option A because a cafeteria would improve our daily work life. First, it gives us affordable meals and snacks. Lots of employees don’t have time to make food, so a cafeteria would save time and help us eat healthier.
Second, eating together builds better teamwork. When people sit and talk over lunch, they get to know each other, which makes working together easier.
A lounge might be nice for relaxing, but a cafeteria meets a bigger need. Good food keeps us focused and energized all day. For these reasons, I believe a cafeteria is the best choice for our office.

Basic answer: around CLB 4–5
I choose Option A because a cafeteria is better for workers. Many people bring lunch, but there’s no good place to eat. A cafeteria with cheap food will make it easy to get meals at work.
Also, some days are busy, and we can’t cook at home. If the company has food, we save time and eat better stuff. This helps us work harder.
A lounge is okay, but food matters more. People need energy to do their jobs well. I think a cafeteria will make everyone happy and strong. That’s why I like this idea.
